Support following the tragic incident at Poynton Station

We are saddened to hear of the deaths of two young people in Poynton last Thursday evening. We offer our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and loved ones and our thoughts go out to all who knew them.

We understand that this tragic incident will have a profound impact on the community, and that it may be particularly difficult for young people to come to terms with these events.

If you have been affected and need some support from your GP, you can reach the practice by contacting us in the usual ways.

We have also collated links to a number of excellent services who can offer mental health advice, guidance and support. We encourage you to visit our website for more information:

Just Drop-In offer free counselling services for young people between 14-25 at Poynton Civic Hall. Self-referrals can be made via their website (www.justdropin.co.uk) or by calling 01625 665079.

Additionally, Just Drop-In are also offering a free mental health first aid session this Saturday 12th July, aimed at parents and carers of young people aged 11 – 18. These sessions are in the Tram Shed at Hickory’s Smokehouse and aim to help build knowledge and confidence to support your child’s mental health.
