What we do:
We offer counselling and fitting of hormonal and non hormonal (copper) coils for women under the age of 56 years. This is currently done at Priorslegh Medical Centre in Poynton and Bollington Medical Centre.
Who provides the service:
GPs Dr Fiona Ellison-Smith, Dr Lowri Barber & Physician Associate Kate Mottershead currently provide this service and are supported by our excellent HCAs and nurses.

How to access the service:
If you would like to have a new coil fitted or a current one changed, please fill in the form below and email it back to cmicb-cheshire.middlewood.coilreferrals@nhs.net – you will then be added to the waiting list and contacted in due course for the initial telephone counselling appointment. The face to face fitting appointment will be on a separate day following this.
Coil removals can be done in a normal appointment by a trained healthcare professional, please contact the surgery to arrange this stating you require ‘removal only’. A date for this will then be allocated to you, as with the fitting this will be a telephone consultation initially.
