Every woman will go through the menopause, but we are all different in how this transition affects us. We’ve curated some information to help you make a decision on what is right for you.

HRT supply problems

We are aware that there are significant HRT supply issues currently. These are particularly effecting the supply of Oestrogen gels and sprays.

We are therefore having a lot of queries about this and are happy to discuss swapping you to a tablet or patch until the supply chain is established.

If your pharmacist does inform you that your HRT is not in stock, please ask them what they do have in. Then we can prescribe you something that is available. The stock varies greatly across the various pharmacies, and we do not have the capacity to continually monitor this.

Is HRT always the answer?

Dr Sharon Wasson, GP at the Middlewood Partnership with a special interest in Women’s Health and the menopause has written some thoughts about HRT and the menopause.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

There is a lot of information available about the Menopause and HRT. It can seem daunting when trying to decide whether to go on HRT or not, and which formulation to try.

The Women’s Health Concern website is excellent; it has clear information discussing what is the menopause, how it might affect you, and what your options are.
