Middlewood Partnership update
Thank you to everyone for their support over the last few weeks. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved since this programme started in January. It has been a fantastic example of our community working together. Once again thank you to every single person who has contributed. Together we have:
· Given 11,313 first vaccinations and 10,280 second vaccinations. So a total of 21,593 vaccinations.
Going forward the position is that our final vaccination clinics will be on:
· 25th May – AZ 09:00-12:30
· 22nd June – AZ 09:00-11:00 & Pfizer 11:00-12:30
The 22nd of June will be Middlewood’s final clinic at this time. We will not be offering any further first or second doses after this date. Patients from groups 1-9 seeking the first dose can now source vaccine (Pfizer and/or AZ) by contacting 119 or by booking online. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/
The mass vaccination centres and some local Pharmacies are now able to vaccinate people aged 38 and over. Middlewood will not be offering vaccinations to these groups.
We would ask any patients that have had their first vaccination via the Middlewood vaccination programme, but who have not yet received an invite for their second dose, to please contact the surgery. It is important that you have your second dose for maximum protection. We will NOT be able to offer any further second doses after the 22nd of June so it is important you get in touch soon.
We will be pausing our vaccination program from the 22nd of June to enable us to focus on our core GP work over the summer months. The vaccination programme will restart in the Autumn where we are expecting to provide COVID booster doses alongside our flu vaccinations. We are awaiting further guidance and anticipate being able to provide further information on this later in the summer.
Once again a huge thank you to all the volunteers, staff and patients that have helped us deliver vaccinations across Middlewood.
