Autumn / Winter 2023 Covid and Flu Vaccination Campaign

Middlewood are pleased to announce the start of our Autumn / Winter 2023 Covid and Flu vaccination campaign.
Please read the information below carefully as it contains important details about patient eligibility and appointments.

● We will not have any Covid vaccine until mid October therefore our first clinics will be for flu only
● Clinics will start in late September – they will be a flu only to begin with as we will not have any Covid vaccine available
● Clinics from the 9th October will be at the Poynton Civic Hall and will be for flu (we may be able to also offer Covid at this clinic dependent on vaccine delivery)
● Clinics will run on various days each week until mid November

● You will be invited for your appointment by text, letter or by phone call
● Please use the text link you have been sent where possible
● Please do not come into the surgery to book your appointment
● You should not attend a clinic without an appointment – this is because different clinics have different vaccines available and we need to ensure we have the right type of vaccine for you
● Those patients eligible for a Covid vaccine that attend the early ‘flu only’ clinics can get a Covid vaccine at a nearby pharmacy. There will also be some ‘Covid catch up’ clinics in Poynton later in October – details TBC

● Both Covid and Flu vaccines will be offered at the clinics in Poynton
● You will be given both vaccines at the same time
● We are not able to offer separate appointments for each vaccine (other than as specified above)
● We do not yet know which type of covid vaccine we will be using

We can only invite you if you fall into one of the categories below. Further information can be found

Housebound patients and care homes
● Unfortunately Middlewood will not be vaccinating our housebound or care home patients
● Vaccines for this group of patients will be delivered by another provider – details will be
confirmed as soon as possible
